I'M HERE FOR ALL OF IT
The chaos
The uncertainty
The vulnerable
The sick
The gowning and gloving
The anxiety
The fear
The bonding
The worried
The gratitude
The isolation
The exhaustion
The elbow bumps
The tears
The camaraderie
The bravery
The innovation
The creativity
The virtual hugs
The unknown
The escalation
The death
The despair
The wins
The survivor
The recovery
The restoration
The future
The next few weeks will bring a new challenge
It's like waiting for a cyclone
There's only so much preparation you can do
Then we begin
And we won't stop
Until it's done
To my colleagues
All of them:
Nurses
LPNs
Receptionists
Doctors
Hospital cleaners
X-ray department
Lab techs
Health care aids
Protective Services
EMS
Kitchen Staff
Allies
This is our finest hour
We have the skill, the grit, the compassion and each other.
COVID will not beat us
COVID will teach us
What we are capable of
Together
