Bad Days
Mar 05, 2020The patients are being a-holes and the printers need to be destroyed by fire! I'm sure you have had one of these days!
Ever had a very big day planned but the computers are laggy or not working. Then the printers won't print then 3 minutes later kick out three copies.
You see a patient who insists on their 20 minutes with you even though you are 20 minutes behind.
The next two patients want their loved ones discussed as well as themselves.
The following patient has shoulder pain, headache, neck pain, pelvic pain and this and that and while you're at it, can you also ....
You know what happens when you get into this mental cycle, you find more and more evidence for how selfish your patients are and how annoyed you are.
It's a wonderful feeling isn't it!

Exhausting is a good word
That's when powerful thoughts can help
"I have plenty of time"
"You are not too far behind"
"I love my patients"
"I can do this even with a laggy computer"
Yes even after years of Practice you get to have a bad day now and again. The good news - my charting is all done
I would love to help you manage your day
